Seven Reasons to Choose Pots and Pans in 5-ply

In professional kitchens, they swear by stainless steel constructed in five layers - with an aluminum core.

And we think it's a shame that these fantastic pots and pans haven't yet found their rightful - and well-deserved - place in the home kitchen.

Although it's difficult to boil down all the benefits into one blog post, we've compiled seven reasons why you should choose pots and pans in stainless steel.

Heat Distribution

Our pots and pans in stainless steel are constructed in 5 layers of metal - with an aluminum core.

This aluminum core has a fantastic ability to conduct heat, which means you don't have to worry about uneven heat.

In combination with the smooth surface of stainless steel, you also get even browning, especially important when you need to sear proteins - so you get a crispy crust on all sides.

Heat Retention

The compact composition of the 5 layers of metal means that these pots and pans not only heat up quickly - but also retain heat well.

This results in you being able to maintain the temperature and keep an even heat throughout the pot - or pan.

This advantage is particularly evident when you make risotto, where it's very important that the sides of the pot are almost as hot as the bottom of the pot - which ensures that the rice is cooked evenly, no matter where in the pot it is.

Temperature Control

When cooking in stainless steel it is incredibly important that you have exactly the right temperature. If the temperature is either too low or too high it will result in you burning the food.

Fortunately, aluminum is extremely responsive - which means it's easy to change the temperature (quickly).

This is one of the places where pots and pans in stainless steel differ from, for example, Cast Iron and Carbon Steel.

Versatility

With a pot or pan in stainless steel, you first and foremost get a kitchen utensil of the highest quality - but another fantastic thing about this type of cookware is that it is perhaps the most versatile tool there is.

First of all stainless steel can be used on all heat sources. It is compatible with induction, gas, ceramic and can even be used in the oven.

So if you've seared a thick steak and want to finish it in the oven, you can just put the pan directly in there.

Secondly you can prepare all foods in stainless steel. Whether you're making the most delicious saltimbocca or there's a simple pasta dish on the menu - you can make it in stainless steel.

PFAS-Free

These pots and pans in stainless steel are free of all PFAS substances.

The cooking surface consists exclusively of stainless steel SS304.

This means you can prepare your food - without having to worry about your (or the environment's) health.

Durability

The strong construction of 5 layers of metal (PFAS-free) also has the huge advantage that it is incredibly durable.

You will be able to enjoy these pots and pans for the rest of your life.

The 5-ply series is built to last a lifetime, whether it's used in the professional kitchen or in the home kitchen.

CoolGrip Handle

The handle on our pans and casseroles is cast in stainless steel with air in the core.

But what does this mean?

As you might be able to tell from the name "CoolGrip handle" it means that the handle stays cool during cooking.

At the same time, the handle is incredibly ergonomic.

We've given the handle a rounded bottom and made an indentation for your thumb, so it fits perfectly in your hand.
