What is a griddle?

A griddle is an essential kitchen tool that allows you to cook evenly and efficiently both inside and out. Our griddle is made from high-quality Swedish carbon steel and is available in both large and small sizes, so you can get one that suits your needs. You can use our griddle for gas, grill, campfire, ceramic and you can even use our griddle for induction.

Behind the design of the griddle

Of course, you don't want to start a grease fire at home, which is why our griddle has bevelled edges, just like a frying pan. In fact, the plate can hold more than a litre of liquid. The sides are hand-welded together to prevent any spillage. In addition to trapping the fat, the bevelled sides also make it possible to boil a small amount of water on the surface of the griddle, making thorough cleaning of the griddle easy.

The griddle is also seared in a layer of oil at the factory, also known as seasoning, which means it is ready to use immediately.

How can you use a griddle?

Our carbon steel griddle is designed for versatile use and can be used for both indoor and outdoor cooking. You can use it on the stove to cook steaks, crisp vegetables, or even as a griddle on your barbecue. The large model is perfect for larger meals or when you have guests, while the small model is perfect for smaller portions or a single flame. You might be thinking: induction hob, is it a good combination? And yes, you can use the griddle for induction. If you don't have a full induction surface, you can also use it on two separate burners and even create different heating zones.

What dishes can you cook with a griddle?

With a kitchen griddle, you can cook a wide variety of dishes. It's ideal for frying meat such as steaks, chicken or fish, as well as cooking vegetables and pancakes. The carbon steel ensures that you achieve a perfect sear on your dishes while the heat is evenly distributed over the entire plate. The griddle's seasoning also allows the food to release easily - and the natural nonstick gets better and better with use.

How can you use the smasher/grill press for the griddle?

A smasher or grill press is a great accessory for your griddle. By using a smasher, you can press your steaks flat for even cooking and a delicious, crispy crust. The smasher can also be used to press sandwiches or paninis. Our carbon steel griddle is robust enough to handle the pressure of a smasher, so you can ensure optimal cooking surface.

The griddle can be used both indoors and outdoors

Our Swedish carbon steel griddle is the perfect solution for those who want flexibility in their cooking. It's designed to be used both indoors on your stove and outdoors on the grill or over an open fire. Whether you're cooking a delicious breakfast in the kitchen or grilling juicy steaks in the garden, the griddle allows you to achieve professional results. The carbon steel retains heat and distributes it evenly, so you'll always get great results wherever you choose to use it.

Created in the heart of Småland

Our griddle is made in Sweden in collaboration with a company with more than 100 years of tradition behind it. The carbon steel is laser-cut and then the edges and handles are bent to achieve the unique design. Once the mould is in place, the corners are hand-welded and the entire griddle is sandblasted both to achieve a beautiful surface - and to prepare it for seasoning: vegetable oils are sprayed onto the sandblasted surface and seared at around 350 degrees for about 5 minutes. The surface turns completely dark - and the burnt oil polymerises, giving a natural nonstick effect, completely free of chemicals.

It's proud craftsmanship, good materials and a process with many manual steps that ultimately make our carbon steel griddle a great choice for anyone looking for a durable and versatile griddle with excellent heat distribution.
